Today I’m putting the spotlight of one of my most recent works, 'Dune' - a mini yet mighty contemporary abstract artwork with plenty of heart - and my inspiration behind creating this piece of art.
I am all about creating uplifting, joyful spaces, and of course art inspired by nature is such a powerful way to introduce a new energy and story into your home. As an artist based in Brisbane, Australia, I am especially drawn to the natural, coastal local landscapes we’re surrounded with (and by extension, I'm sucker for creating calming coastal style interiors too).
I wanted this artwork to capture the essence that is the soul-hugging magic of a twilight beach stroll, meandering through the dunes and beach trails surrounded in native scrub as the sun sinks low (or conversely, just before it peeks over the horizon).

There’s a certain electricity in the air, the crisp coastal breezes energise, and the serenity that comes with the mesmerising hum of the surf crashing rhythmically against the shore. A feeling that is simultaneously soothing and uplifting.
And to finish, here's a quick little compilation of some of my fave photos from the archives that capture the essence of the etherial feeling I wanted to create with Dune.
'Dune' is available now, find out more about this artwork here.
